A popular question among newcomers to TSF is "What is Spirit?"

There are many answers to this question, and really the definition varies for each person. Basically, the spirit is the fun and friendship that the Site Fights was created for. "Where they're fighting for fun and friendships begun" is a slogan commonly used by TSF, because that is exactly what it is! Spirit is team work, encouragement, respect, fair play, and the friendly manner in which the sites compete.

This little wand is a spirit stick, something which is passed from older members of the Site Fights to the newer ones. When a site first enters competition, a DPatrol Deputy passes them a spirit stick and wishes them luck. They, in turn, pass it on to friends and teammates and the spirit is passed. A spirit stick which you once passed to a friend may, one day, come back to you! You never know, and the beauty of it is that in this tiny symbol is the essence of friendship and spirit.

One of the ways that people in TSF show their spirit for their team & the entire Site Fights is by cheering at Shout it Out. By cheering, a person can share with the entire Site Fights their spirit!

Cheers, or shouts, can be anything! They can be short stories, or songs, or poetry, or perhaps just a little message saying "GO TEAM!" Some teams have cheers which other people have written which you can copy and paste, and there are always people around who are willing to help you make up a cheer or two. Cheering only takes a minute and is a great way to not only show spirit but to catch the attention of others, perhaps getting a new supporter or another friend!

There is no formal limit to the number of shouts a person can post in a day, though the old limit of 5 shouts per day still seems to be a standard. Some teams have team shout limits, so it's always a good idea to keep your eyes open when you first join a team to see if there is a limit or not. You don't have to cheer, though its lots of fun and doesn't really take much to post one cheer per day.

When you're cheering, the main tip to remember is to have fun! In a single day, only post one copy of a cheer, don't repeat it over and over again. And watch out, because your shout may be noticed by a fairy who wanders by, and they may consider it for special awards to give to spirited shouters!

But remember, shouting is limits to those who are involved in TSF or are about to start fighting. Why? Well, you need a team for it, and you don't have a team or group unless you're a fighting or some member of staff (see below for some groups!).

DFairy Realm is home to two very special groups, the Fairies and the Wee Ones!

Fairies join one of the teams and check the sites on a weekly basis to make sure they still maintain the standards of TSF. Also, however, they are big spreaders of TSF spirit! As they visit a site they sign the guestbook with a touch of fairy dust, leaving a message of spirit, encouragement, and luck behind to cheer a fighter on! You have to be 18 to be a fairy. If you'd like to find out, follow the link below!

If you aren't 18 yet, don't fret because there is a spot in DFairy Realm for you as well! The Wee Ones are the younger fairies who visit a site to encourage and spread spirit just like a Fairy does, but they don't have to check a site as much as a Fairy. They tickle fighters with their wee wings and spread magic and laughter, and have loads of fun while they're at it! To visit the home of the Wee Ones, click below!

DRealm of DSpirit is the home of spirit for the entire Site Fights. They run many programs that share spirit with all and help new fighters, but one of their most fun is the Spirits!

DEssence of DSpirit, best known as the Spirits, is a program that someone of any age can sign up for! Once you become a spirit you join a team and start to spread spirit to the newest fighters on the team, those in the very beginning rounds! Spirits help the spirit to blossom and grow in fighters, helping new fighters get started in many areas. Also, they help seek out spirited fighters for the Spirit Award, one of the most prestigious awards given to fighters! Want to learn more? Just follow the link!
