Amateur Radio, or Ham Radio is one of my newest hobbies. Both Keith and I have our ham radio licenses. My call sign is KD7KPZ and Keith's is KD7KPY.
American Radio Relay League (ARRL)
I am very involved in Emergency Service, with both ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) and RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service). I hold the positions in Pierce County, WA of Secretary for both ARES/RACES, and Assistance Emergency Coodinator (ARES), and Assistant Radio Officer (RACES), as well as being the Secretary for Zone 6 ARES/RACES, which is where I live.
I also am the webmaster for a few websites, the ARES/RACES site for Pierce County, and the Zone 6 Website.
My main interests are 2 meters, and packet. I'm getting a packet station set up and should have it up and running soon.
Keith and I are also heavily involved in Search and Rescue. We're members of Tactical Area Communications, which handles communications for Pierce County Search and Rescue. I'm one of the dispatchers for TAC.
