Went to the ALL class reunion at Keith's high school (Kent Meridian), and some of the students that graduated when I was BORN, look younger than I do! *sheesh!* Keith mentioned it when we were watching everyone. Stupid grey hair, and Keith's bald head. *giggle*

Gillis sure knows how to take an opportunity and run with it. For those that don't know, Gillis is my 2 year old male Doberman Pinscher. I'm training him as an assistance dog for my own use. Well, he was outside in our fenced yard today when I went out to get the mail, and usually he'll stand right at the gate and make little token attempts to get out of the yard. (He thinks he's missing something when he can't run down the street and make friends to every dog). Well, he got past me and ran down the street, happy as can be. Luckily, we live on a VERY small road, so there's not that much traffic on it. A neighbor from across the street came and called Gillis to her, which he thought was a great game, and decided to play tag with her too, but he got too close to me, and I managed to grab his collar. He got dumped into the yard so I could get the mail, then he was marched into the house and crated. *sigh* Puppies. I'll be glad when he's not quite such a puppy. Well, he's going to miss barking at everything within his range, (which he thinks is if he can hear it, he can bark at it), as he'll be going outside to potty on a leash, and not by himself. He won't be able to bark or do any of those other fun things, and maybe he'll learn a lesson, but I doubt it. *sigh*

Okay, yeah, that's an interesting title... well, my husband is driving me nuts!!! I'm having friends over tonight for a Pampered Chef party (like Avon or Tupperware), and he said he wasn't going to help clean house... well, he did sorta, but the major thing is that he messed up the table I'm using, by piling stuff all over it! I don't mind him not helping, but this is rediculious when he "helps" by making a mess!
Mom says all men do this, and I sometimes wonder, do I want to go back to being single? He complains all the time, when I need a hand with something, and when I complain that I hurt, he complains too. He doesn't hurt as bad as I do, nor does he have a disability, but because he works an 8-hour a day job, I guess that gives him the right to complain, although it sounds like one-upmanship.
I really love him, but this dropping of everything and never putting anything away is really starting to get on my nerves. When we were living in our apartment, I couldn't get around very much, so Keith did have to do all the cleaning. Now, that we're living in a wheelchair accessible house, and I do the cleaning, he's a mess! He was when we were in the apartment, but I didn't complain since I couldn't clean things. Now, it just exhausts me to pick up after him (took me 2 hours today). MEN!

This weekend sure had it's ups and downs. My mom paid for a hotel room so Keith and I could go to our family reunion. She requested a wheelchair accessible room, and when we got to the hotel (after a full day of visiting relatives), I wheeled in, and checked out the bathroom. The door was too narrow for my wheelchair (28"). I should have really suspected something then, but didn't, until I was in the bathroom and on the toilet. I went to get OFF the toilet and discovered there were no grab bars! ARGH! Luckily, I'd brought Gillis into the bathroom with me, and he was able to get me onto my feet. I was so upset that Keith and I left right then and there. I'm looking into litigation against the hotel, since I can't function in a non-accessible room, which this definitely was.

Well, here's a start of what has happened in the months since April.
The pump is still not working, it got totally turned off in June, after having saline replace the baclofen. I had a major itching reaction, which was first thought to be from the shampoo that I use to bathe Gillis with. Nope, then it was thought to be the saline in the pump. Nope. It was the Vicodin that I'd been taking for MONTHS. So now, I'm allergic to Vicodin. I have a new doctor at Good Samaritan hospital in Puyallup. Much nearer than to drive all the way up past Seattle. Dr. Stevenson is very nice, and I'll be able to get Physical and Occupational Therapy at the hospital, which will be really nice.
Had a dye test done on the pump, and there's not a thing wrong with it.
I had a nerve conduction test done on my wrists for carpel tunnel. The results are the beginning of carpal tunnel in the left wrist (the hand I write with), and normal in the right wrist. I still have tendonitis, so I'm wearing hand braces all the time. They sorta enable me to push my manual wheelchair. It's a good thing I don't use it much anymore, what with my new wheelchair. Yep, got a new wheelchair at the end of April. You can see a picture of it at here. There are some differences, which are that I have the high back on the wheelchair, which comes with a head rest and my chair is blue. :)
There was a break up in one of the online groups I'm on, NetSisters, so I'm with the original group, rebuilding it after several of the leaders left. It's like a breath of fresh air, really. I was about ready to leave NS when this breakup happened, so having to start over with a brand-new group, and committees, is kinda fun.
I've stopped competing in The Site Fights (TSF). I am a Scribe for D'Patriots Freedom Fighters, and you can see the Party pages, as well as the Team Pages. I'm no longer an Assistant with the Seryn Fairies, long story that I really don't want to talk about, other than I can't hold more than one leadership position in TSF, and Scribe is considered a Leadership position. Seryn Isle Elves are now, the Guardians of Elentaria, and their pages aren't quite up yet, but it's looking great. I stayed with the team as a Fairy, as this was my first home in TSF (no matter WHAT name they are under). I'm also a reporter for the Spirit Spark, a subscription-only online newsletter for TSF. So, instead of having oh, 5 jobs, I've dropped it down to three. :)
My husband, Keith, who had been out of work since January 4th, 2000, has a new job working for a company that is replacing ALL the computers at the Bangor Submarine Base in Bremerton, and he'll be helping to replace all the military's desktop machines in Bremerton too. This job is great, as he has the opportunity to go to school to get his MSCE certification.
Speaking of school, I've signed up for an correspondance course on Web Design from Harcourt Learning Direct. The course can take anywhere from 9 months to 2 years, but I think I'll be done sooner than that. I'm hoping to learn CGI, and something about e-commerce sites, as well as get a piece of paper for Web Design. I have a lot of knowledge, but nothing to prove that I know this stuff.
Gillis is 28 months now, and doing great! Check out the updates page for information on his training!
Whew! I think that's everything!
Been really busy the last two days, building pages for NetSisters, and my Party pages for D'Patriots Freedom Fighters over in TSF.
I'm also building pages for a local rubber stamp store, so all my time is spent in front of the computer! Such fun!
I will try to keep everyone informed of what is going on... I know there are a lot of people that care.

I know I haven't posted anything in Insights for a long while. Well, I've been too busy, too tired, and too... well, you get the idea. Now that I have found this wonderful service (Thanks, Domynoe!), I've decided to let the service handle all the work of uploading a journal. :) I'll be making entries every day, and updating everyone on what I've been doing.
