I'm an old time gamer. Meaning that I have played role-playing games (RPGs) for YEARS. My favorite RPGs are Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (AD&D) and Champions (comic book heroes). Wizards of the Coast just released the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) third edition and since I have money now, I decided to buy the three core rule books. I haven't played D&D since I was in high school, and I'm hooked all over again! I had kept my books from way back when (they are in a box SOMEWHERE), and they were 1st edition. I haven't played 2nd edition at all, and I think I'm glad I didn't. I have heard that it's terribly unbalanced, but with the new d20 system that WoTC (Wizards of the Coast) came up with, it's great.
The neatest thing is, I am going to start being a Dungeon Master (DM) again. Meaning that I will run my own games again. There's a WoTC store at the local mall, and they would love to have me run games there. I'm going to start with a small group of players totally new to D&D and then maybe work another game in with those new to 3rd edition D&D. We'll have to see how they go. I'm psyched, and maybe I'll even be able to PLAY in a game, instead of running one too. If you're interested in role-playing games, check out the Wizards of the Coast website.
I don't know, but I may talk about the game on my website, we'll see. :)

I realize that I haven't posted ANYTHING for nearly a month, and you wouldn't be reading this if Seattle hadn't just had a major earthquake, and my work (Sears at a local mall). Major problems there with merchandise and stuff all over the floor! They are the only store that is not open, as I was at the mall early to pick up a GameShark for my GameBoy Color. Luckily, the DH was at home checking out the damage (there wasn't any) so he could pick me up and take me home so I wasn't stuck at the mall until 9pm.
I had some major problems with a few of my co-workers at H&R Block. One person is so totally terrified of large dogs that I can't go near her with Gillis attached to me, so I have to make sure I go AROUND her desk when I leave. Since she's the receptionist, and I have to go up and greet clients, I make sure that Gillis is attached to the table that is in my cubicle when she's working. Another co-worker said she wasn't afraid of Gillis, but then Gillis stood up when I told him to do so, and his harness banged against the top of the table he was under, and she complained to the office manager, and to the franchise owner in writing, saying that Gillis isn't trained, and that how can he be up to the standards of service dogs when he does things like this. She said he LUNGED at her. Gillis, lunge? Yeah, right. Anyway, I got talked to by the office manager, and I basically told her that this co-worker doesn't know anything at all. This co-worker, I'll call her Jane, told my office manager, that I was giving her tall tales about there NOT being any standards for service dogs. There aren't. And even if there were, Gillis IS a service dog. And I can prove it, and in court if I have to. Anyway, It's come down to the point that I ignore Jane and keep Gillis away from her. What really frosts me is that she would pet Gillis at the beginning of tax season, and NOW, since she doesn't like him being there (he stands up whenever someone comes into my cubicle and I'm not there), she doesn't want him around. He only stands up because he wants to know where I am... I SHOULD have him attached to me at all times, but with my other co-worker so afraid of Gillis, it's not fair to her. *sigh* We'll see if I get hired back next year.
We (meaning the Sears H&R Block) started the season with 7 tax preparers. Then we lost 2 right off the bat. So we're down to 5 and actually, it's 4 1/2, since one of the other preparers only works three days a week. Now, we're down to 3 1/2 becuase the office manager did an incredibly stupid thing (keeping $15,000 at home because you don't have a key to use the night drop?) and got herself canned. *sigh* At least one of my co-workers got the office manager job and she's doing a great job at it! I can't believe that our office manager did this tho... talk about STUPID. Since she didn't have a key (it got given back to the district office since they lost THEIR key), she could have dropped it off at the office for them to deposit. Come to find out too, she changed all the office policies and we were getting yelled at for not follow the office procedures. Yes, it's in Sears, but that's not THAT much different. We're all flabbergasted that she'd do such a thing, as the contract she signed states that you have to deposit the money within 24 hours. That's the policy at ALL the offices. *sigh* Anyway, we're doing our best to stay calm and all that.
It's really weird. I haven't had any service dog problems since our manager was fired. Even the big boss had nothing bad to say... she did make a comment that she wondered if they could move the printer and copier from my cubicle, but the way the power is set up, nope, it can't move. I explained WHY Gillis stood up, and she accepted that. And in front of Jane as well. I guess we'll have to see.
