          Namezero

You know, it seemed like a good idea at the time... a free service to get a domain name and it would point to any website I chose... with just a small nav bar at the bottom of the screen. So, I did it... because at the time, (a few years ago), it cost $70 to register a domain name. Especially since you could buy out your domain name (have it registered in YOUR name), for only $14.95. Then, a few months later, I decided to do just that, and sent them email... no answer. I sent email every week for a few months, with no answer. Then, Namezero changed to where you HAVE to pay for the privledge... with the ad bar to boot. I complained to their Customer service and was told basically to do it or not... they wouldn't sell me the name... *sigh* Well, okay, I normally don't use danawheels.com... except a friend can't seem to get it in her head that my domain is danawheels.net (and Namezero does forward email from the .com to any address I want), and now Namezero says that if a PLUS account isn't purchased all email will be lost! ARGH! So, yes, I'm doing, it, because it's only $19.95, and the domain will be registered in MY name... once that is done, I'll be damned if I stay with Namezero any longer and totally remove them from my WhoIs listing.

I thought about complaining to Internic, but with this email thing, I don't have the time... they wisely chose to send email warning about the email cut off YESTERDAY, giving me less than 12 hours to fix this. *sigh*

I hate it when companies try to hold you hostage.

At least you'll all know NOT to go to Namezero, and to go to someplace like GoDaddy, where you can have your own domain for $8.95!
