          Pain Free

After several months, almost a year... I'm finally pretty much pain free! I was on a drug called Ultram, but it didn't work all that well, it took the edge off the pain, but that's it. Then, a friend of mine, who's a paraplegic, came to visit, and she gave me a darvacet (yes, yes, don't tell my doctor that I took another person's prescription!), and it worked! I couldn't believe it, since darvacet is the weakest of the pain drugs. Well, saw my doctor yesterday and changed meds. Another good thing about the darvacet that it's $17 for 60 pills instead of $40 for the Ultram. :) And I don't HURT! A cause for celebration.

          MEN!

I just changed a light bulb. No big deal but I had to go through the closet to find a light bulb and I found SIX boxes empty sitting on the shelf. Why doesn't my husband throw those boxes away when they are empty? *sigh* It's got to be a male thing!

          Voice Recognition

Well, I finally got voice recognition going on this computer... however, some of Windows 98's apps like to take over the microphone so I need to figure out what's going on, so that I can use it, like to type this up! *sigh* I thought I'd solved the problem by turning ON the microphone through the Windows sound thingie, but I guess not. I hate solving hardware problems. Once it's fixed, tho, I won't be typing much of anything and that will save my hands... stupid carpal tunnel and tendonitis.

The program I use is DragonDictate, and while it's not a natural speaking program (it's called discrete, which means you pause between each word), it works better for me. I find that I have about a 98% accuracy rate, and that even with that, if I make a mistake I can correct it easily. I've used DragonDictate for years, and wish they'd update it as it hasn't been in a few years, because many disabled people can't use DragonNaturallySpeaking.

          Gaming

Well, I'm running my first D&D game in YEARS. And it's going to be VERY interesting. We're playing in the Forgotten Realms, using the new Campaign setting just released by Wizards of the Coast. I wouldn't be using that right now, but I'm running a game at a game store and the owner GAVE ME a copy of the FM book for running the game. :)

I've got a variety of gamers in my game. About 10, which is more than I'm comfortable with, but I'll deal with it. Some are new to D&D, some are new to 3d ed, some are new to roleplaying period. Should be fun. Even the owner is playing! :)

*sigh* Well, the job at WoTC is a no go. The manager hired back an old employee for regular stuff, and he's also a D&Der. DARN!
