INSIGHTS

This page is kind of like a journal, but more of a look into my mind and thoughts, as I go through the year. Depending how prolific I am, I may break these entries down to months, as well as years. Entries are arranged, the oldest first (per month), with months as separate pages.

November 3, 1999

The house closed on the 26th, and we've gotten started moving things. First things that were moved were our storage unit, saving us $71 a month, and it doesn't even fill a fourth of the garage! *grin* I'm so excited about moving into our new house!

November 4, 1999

Bought a mailbox for our new place. There's reports of mail pilferage, so when I saw a display of mailboxes at the recent home show, I remembered them, and ordered their most vandal-proof mailbox. It locks, and no one can steal the mail. It allows the mail person to open a door, and drop our mail into the locked portion of the mail box. The way it is set up, no one can stick their hand in the mailbox and try and steal the mail, either.

The mailbox should be here by Tuesday. Keith is going to build a post out of concrete so we don't have anyone try to run it over!

November 6, 1999

Spent this weekend moving boxes from our storage unit to the garage... have 8 1/2 years of stuff from a storage unit in there. Found 4 framed pictures that I didn't even know I had to hang up on our bare walls!

Gillis loves the new place, he keeps doing what I call the "puppy 500", and that is running around as fast as he can! *laugh*

November 8, 1999

*sigh* Our new phone company is full of idiots. We're about a mile out of US West territory, and for all the jokes I've made about US West, I want them back as my phone company. This little, tiny company doesn't want to help someone set up a new phone. They don't want to send me the right form to get free directory assistance ('cause I can't lift a phone book), nor do they want to tell their repair people what we want them to do. The repair guy was out to replace the phone box outside our house, but wasn't told that he had to hook up our second phone line. *sigh*

November 9, 1999

The mailbox showed up today, as well, as the tap lights I ordered. These little round lights are battery operated and work great for nightlights. :)

The mailbox, however, was messed up. I ordered the numbers to be on the front of the mailbox, but they were put on the side, even though the order form clearly said FRONT. *sigh* The company is sending us the right numbers, and says it's not hard to install them. *grin*

November 10, 1999

*sigh* Pouring down rain when I went to Physical Therapy, and I'd been warned that the baclofen pump wouldn't help my spasticity much if I was cold, and that was proven today. Was really spastic, and Richard (my Personal Torturer) *giggle* had to really work to stretch me out.

November 12, 1999

*sigh* I've gained even more weight... and here I thought I was eating right. I'm going to have to start exercising more... even though I have been going to Physical Therapy 3 times a week and working out there.

My body was not as spastic as it has been... I think it's because Keith took me to PT, so I wouldn't get cold and wet.

November 14, 1999

Whew! Spent the entire weekend moving things! Yesterday, had 3 pickups packed to the gills, and friends helped pack up our apartment, then unload them at the house, TWICE! :) Still lots of stuff at the apartment *sigh*, so we'll be making trips the rest of this month! I am SO glad to be out of our apartment!

Wow! Really busy today. I've been doing the Seryn Isle Elves newsletter, helping our Team Leader with Secret Lights, AND updating my webpage. I need about 10 more hours today! *laugh* We're slowly, but surely getting moved out of the apartment. There was a package there today, *sigh* I ordered a Bonzai tree, but had specified that it come to the house, but it didn't. *sigh* Good thing we checked the mail, because it may have died if we'd waiting a week, like we normally do to pick up the mail. It's a nice tree, and I'll probably have a picture of it up soon. :)
