This page is kind of like a journal, but more of a look into my mind and thoughts, as I go through the year. Depending how prolific I am, I may break these entries down to months, as well as years. Entries are arranged, the oldest first (per month), with months as separate pages.

We didn't get the house. Someone else was picked. Which means someone bid more than $65,000 for the house, probably about $70,000 which is what the house and yard are valued at. I'm really bummed out that we didn't get this house... but there will be another list of VA repos on September 8th, so maybe "our" house will be on it. I hope so.

The apartment complex where we live did a "wonderful" thing. <heavy sarcasm here> They welded the gates shut for those that want to walk out of the apartment complex. Now, I have to go to the driveway, and wheel out where all the cars come in and leave to get out of the complex, passing over 4 speed bumps. I can't do it at all in my manual wheelchair, I'll tip over for sure, and I don't have the strength to push over the speed bumps, and in my motorized wheelchair I did almost tip over. *sigh*
Called the manager, and she said that her corporate office told them to do it, because the fence and gates are over 20 years old and that they couldn't get parts to fix the gates anymore. Well, she's wrong. The fence is maybe 8 years old, and the gates are maybe 3 years old, so she's lying so that they don't have to fix them anymore. They are going to be so upset when I take them to court if they don't get these things open, or a way for me to "safely" get in and out of the apartment complex.

The realtor called this morning and said that the winning bid was $68,300, and that we weren't the second name on the list, so I guess we wait until September 8th to see if there are any suitable houses.
Now, the realtor called AGAIN, and said that we ARE the #2 name on the list for the house, and that there is a 40-50% chance we'd still get the house, depending on if financing (credit history) is not good for the #1 pick, or the #1 pick finds something wrong with the house and doesn't want to deal with it after receiving the full disclosure. We may not know for at least 30 days whether they keep the house or not. *sigh* This sure has been a roller coaster ride on my emotions.

Went to the Puyallup Fair and took a look at things needed when we move... I'm not saying IF anymore, it's WHEN. I'm waiting to hear back from the Realtor on this month's VA Repo list.
The Fair was fun as always, even though I noticed that NONE of the places to buy food were accessible. *sigh* It's time for a letter to the Fair to ask them to make changes, I guess.
I ate too much at the Fair, as usual, and was really tired when we got home. *sigh* Well, I'll be going to the Fair again on September 23rd, for the Huey Lewis and the News concert. :) It's gonna be a blast!
Keith and I bought too much stuff, as usual. Keith bought an ice shaving machine, and we bought a bag for our pop machine. It'll be great at the cons! I also bought a magnetic bracelet. I hope it works.

I decided to see what the Site Fights thing was all about. It looks like fun! :) I can use more fun in my life. :) We'll see if my site is approved and how it all works. :)

I've never been more upset. The event I work for has asked me to NOT sue the hotel after the event, for ADA violations, because that means they wouldn't get a good referral for a new hotel next year. The hotel refuses to put a king sized bed in a wheelchair accessible room, even though they offer king beds to non-disabled patrons. They also want to charge me $120 a night to sleep in a suite (they changed all the rooms in one building to suites), instead of the $78 per night for a regular room. The disabled rooms in the main building have 30" wide doors, too narrow for anyone who uses a wheelchair to get through.
So, now I have to make a choice, fight for my rights, and kill the event (they THREATENED that the board of directors would vote to not hold the event), or let the hotel get away with violating my rights. I'm so upset I'm about ready to kill myself. Why the hell did I think these people would SUPPORT me???
September 13, 1999
I'm really resigned to the fact because I work for this event, I'll not be able to fight for my rights. I love this event but I hate the fact that the committee tried to make me feel guilty enough to NOT sue the hotel. I HATE BEING DISABLED!!!

*sigh* A weekend to myself, because Keith is shooting a movie, and my wheelchair isn't charging... which means I'm stuck at home. *sigh*

Went to the Western Washington Fair (Puyallup Fair). Mom and I had a lot of fun, and spent 12 hours there! We were there to see Huey Lewis and the News. As always (I've seen them once before at the Fair), they put on a great show! The weather was a normal grey Washington day. It was lightly raining when we got to the fair, but it only lasted about an hour or so. :) All in all a great day!
Mom mentioned that the realtor called, and that she'd driven by the house we didn't get in Sumner. NOTHING had been done to the house, so Maggie (the realtor) is going to call and see what is up with that.
September 24, 1999
Mom called early this morning to tell me that Maggie had called, and that the house was ours if we wanted it!!! Something had fallen through for the first bidder, and we now have the house!!! We, of course, said yes!!! So, it can be from 10 days for the house to close to 3 months. I'm hoping it's 10 days. *laugh* I want a month to move out of our apartment. :) Gonna take me that long to get things moved into boxes.
September 27, 1999
Keith and I spent all day at the house, taking pictures, and drawing up the floorplan so we can decide where to put stuff before we move! I'm getting really excited about moving. The pictures we took will be on here as soon as I can build the pages!
September 28, 1999
Pictures are online of the house... you can see them HERE. We are still waiting for the full disclosure, but when that shows up, we'll see what things we missed that the inspectors caught.
September 30, 1999
The full disclosure was a joke!!! The house wasn't even inspected! So, now we have to pay to get at least the septic system inspected and pumped. *sigh* You'd think the VA would inspect the place, but maybe they are hoping we buy it, and if it falls apart then we have to deal with it. We're meeting with the realtor, my parents, and my father-in-law on Sunday to decide what to do.
